printy, myth and startup legend from 1978
Our Story
printy was founded in 1978 by current CEO Andreas Wittek and his wife Barbara in Munich’s Maxvorstadt Theresienstraße 71 as a sole proprietorship.
In 1989, shortly after the fall of the Berlin Wall, the Wittek family was a founding member of a copy shop in the center of Leipzig, printy Kopierservice GmbH. At the same time, Printy Munich expanded with a branch in the Munich Enhuberstraße.
This facility relocated with the 1997 move of the TUM Faculty of Mechanical Engineering to the Garching Research Center, Boltzmannstraße 15.
Our main office moved in October 2012 from Theresienstraße 69/71 to Luisenstraße 49 Rgb.
Due to Corona and generational change, printy in the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering was closed on 19.03.2022.
The Munich-based company, printy A.Wittek GmbH, is characterized by its dedicated and motivated employees and family owners. Traditional, artisanal perfection and reliability in the agile digital printing trade, are the reasons for printy’s excellent reputation far beyond Munich’s borders.
